RedHatES3 - vsftp

Friends,

I am looking for something that I can run on my ftp server this is Redhat es3 , w vsftp. The logs are in /var/logs/vsftpd.log

I have seen where lines and lines of bogus users have hammered away at this server trying to log on. Eventually my server needs a restart ( goes stupid )

I have python 2.14 ... so maybe I have to update that?

so my Q:
would this BlockHosts help with this?
Is there any special instructions for making it work in the enviroment that I have cited above?

I see the install instruct in the FAQ , should it be that easy? Am i missing anything?

If you are generally ok with system admin tasks, it should not be very hard to get blockhosts up and running. Does require TCP WRAPPERS to be in use (though even that is not absolutely necessary).

In terms of FTP - if you see your log lines in the blockhosts.cfg patterns, it will definitely block it.
