Time limit?

Is the time limit for Count_Threshold unlimited? I.e. if someone fails to login yesterday and today and the count_threshold is 2, will the ip be blocked then?

discard has timeout

IP addresses are watched only for a specific interval - after that interval has expired, the IP address is removed (unblocked).

Here's the help output for the discard time interval:

--discard=AGE Number of hours after which to discard record - if
most recent invalid attempt from IP address is older,
discard that host entry (12). Integer values only.
