The bagels at St-Viateur Bagels are the best bagels in the world. It is the most caught in time neighborhood where you see bags and bags of flour and sesame seeds in the window and they are pulling fresh bagels out of a huge brick oven on a giant wooden plank right before your eyes. The bagels are warm and gooey and squishy and perfect.
Yet another thing Canada does better than the U.S. Gay marriage, healthcare, decriminlization of marijuana, senior care and now bagels — what does it mean when even New Yorkers are admitting that Canada is a cooler country?

I have to agree. Not about the bagels. Though I don’t doubt you because I’ve never been to St-Viateur Bagels or to Montreal for that matter. But I agree that Canada is bitchin’. Not only do you have great bagels and progressive politics, but the music ain’t have bad either! (Read: not Rush, but indie music, esp. in Toronto.)
Count one Californian in the ‘Canada is Cooler’ campaign.

Does all this mean I have to move to Canada in order to live the GOOD life? Wish I were already there, I am jealous. Peace and enjoy.

I’ve always been gay (so I believe) and always lived in Canada, Montreal mostly, except for some trips here and there. (including Nashville for a while). I believe we have it the sweetest in the world in Montreal for women, for being gay, for the quality of life in general. I am not into politics, I have just traveled and compared. You’re gay and respectfull of others, you are welcome in Montreal!
