After two long years at the censor board… Chutney Popcorn will finally be shown in Mumbai this November. I’m thinking of going. Because, you know, I want to see the theater before it’s bombed.

Hey, Nisha, will it be in Hindi? That would be great. I would definately get a copy for my Hindi movie collection. And be careful. You have alot of fans that love you and your work.
Peace

I think the real question is will it be on VCD before you land in India, because you know if that happens its guaranteed that it will be in Hindi, like all of it, and badly dubbed not to mention it will cropped, panned and scanned..okay I sound bitter ab out Indian piracy but these people should learn their lesson by now dammit!
Also Nish, wear a bullet proof vest, Deepa Metha was made public enemy number #1 from the Mumbai governing council without even seeing Fire. Heck, the Indian government banned “WATER” before even seeing a script. I think it is safe to say that “ignorance” is going to be your biggest opponent in India. Good Luck and God Speed!
Let’s pray that someday soon that the world’s biggest democracy not only practices it but takes action to protect those who take initiative to practice it as well!

I totally agree with Harry, and I should have made myself clear, I would only want it if the VHS, or VCD were not Pirate, I do not buy Pirate films, especially if they are Nisha’s. But, yeah, do wear that vest Nisha, and please be careful, wishing you the very best.
Peace.

It takes courage to put controversial art out in India, and I congratulate and admire you for doing this. I find it difficult to be out to Indian friends, the environment is so different. But your work is great, you heart and kindness and intelligence shine through your work, so let’s hope the Sen Shiva doesn’t have a field day.
