Okay - I am still angry but am managing to move beyond the hate. As MC MC often alludes to - it’s time to embrace and spread the love. I still have no love for George Bush - but as I was watching this ‘issue’ of whether all humans in our country deserve equal rights being debated on CNN and MSNBC all day - and how surreal was it that our ‘news’ consisted of alternating stories between ‘gay marriage’ and mel gibson’s ‘the passion’ all day long - I was saddened and then something incredible happened. They footage that was played (over and over and over but not as much as the footage of jesus being raised on the cross in the passion) of the couples getting married in SF took on a new importance. I felt so hopeful to hear the mayor of SF speak so boldly. To take down the rhetoric of the right - particularly the ‘ are you for polygamy?” argument that is just so tired and ignorant. I thought - it’s happening - people are claiming their rights. People are demanding their rights and it’s about time. All this fear of a backlash - it’s just fear. I bet everyone was afraid that if Rosa Parks didn’t sit in the back of the bus - the people in power would get all angry and take it out on ALL the black people. But you know what? The people in power were already angry and taking out on all the black people! If that march didn’t happen - if there was no MLK and no Malcolm X - then what? Where would our country be? Where is the gay MLK? Where is the gay Malcolm X? People are ready to be lead, people are ready to hear that someone has a dream— who is gonna step up? And in the meantime, isn’t it awesome that everyone is taking it upon themselves to step up…. and not fear a backlash anymore. Because really, what more wrong and awful could happen?

Well, Nisha, I wish they had this equality back when I was in the Marine Corps. It was a total witch hunt and I had NO RIGHTS, I had to fight for everything in the 80’s. Now the marriage thing is quickly approaching and that is great for those who want to be married, my last girlfriend had that in her mind, but when she told me I had to make a choice, her OR my Mother, I chose Mom, soon after that we broke up after 4 years. We need to have EQUAL rights and we need them soon. We are not asking for special rights, just the rights that we ALL deserve, as far as Bush goes I don’t hate the boy trapped in a man’s body, BUT I do not like him, or his decisions. We need a person that is NOT prejudiced against us, we need a person that will help us NOT hurt us. You are a good person and I feel bad for you when something creates hate within you, been there and done that, and it is very destructive. But I believe you are strong enough to overcome what negativity comes your way. I was disgusted when I first heard about the president with his homophobic crap, but that is on him. He is the Negativity that we have to vote out of office along with all the other homophobes out there.
Don’t worry, Nisha, everything will be OK in the end, I’m sure.
Your Devoted Fan,
Monica

Wow, somebody in america actually has my name! Well, that really isn’t the surprizing part, really more that they are intelligent, speak well and hate bush! It’s the perfect combination, if I do say so myself. I wouldn’t bother going to my website, everything good is locked anyway. But I just wanted to pop in, on the faint hope that we may have more in common than our names and a fiery hate towards ignorant politicians.

ADDING ANOTHER VERY INTERESTING AND IMPORTANT THING HERE, IF I MAY, I HAVE BEEN READING ABOUT MEL GIBSON AND HE IS HOMOPHOBIC TO A SICKENING DEGREE, I AM SURPRIZED HE WAS ASKED TO PLAY A PART OF SUCH A LOVING AND MASTERFUL PERSON SUCH AS JESUS. VERY SURPRISED, JESUS WAS AND IS SUCH A POWERFUL AND LOVING SPIRITUAL GUIDANCE THAT THE PART SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO SOMEONE VERY MUCH IN TOLERANCE AND ACCEPTANCE OF ALL. AS JESUS WAS AND IS. NOT TRYING TO PRESS RELIGIOUS, JUST STATING HOW IT MADE ME FEEL, UNFORTUNATELY, I HAVE TO SAY HE IS A GOOD ACTOR, EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT FEEL HAPPY TO LEARN ABOUT HIS PERSONAL FEELINGS TOWARDS CERTAIN GROUPS OF PEOPLE. I HAVE TO BE FAIR AND SAY HE IS STILL A GOOD ACTOR, MAYBE THAT IS WHY THEY GOT HIM FOR THE PART. I WISH THERE WERE MORE PEOPLE WHO COULD ‘ACT’ LOVING INSTEAD OF HATEFUL IN THE WORLD, MAYBE IT WOULD BE A MUCH MORE BEAUTIFUL PLACE FOR US ALL. BUT WOULD THAT MEAN WE WOULD BE LIVING A LIE, AS BEFORE SOME OF US CAME OUT? PRETENDING TO BE ONE WAY, WHEN REALLY WE WERE ANOTHER? SORRY TO BE SO INTENSE, BUT HAVE SOME STRONG FEELINGS WITH THIS SUBJECT AND AM HRC MEMBER/SUPPORTER.
PEACE BE WITH EVERYONE.

Monica, Mel Gibson did not play in the Passion of the Christ, he directed it. Just thought I would tell you that because you are thinking that he played Jesus from what I read. Maybe I read your post wrong.

Tristan, thank you for that. You read right, I am wrong. Shows you how anxious I was to see it, I was told he was given the part of Jesus. I am still going to see it, but when it comes out on DVD. But I still have to stick to my guns about his beliefs, which are fine, as long as you don’t force them down other peoples’ throats. So, thank you Tristan for straightening that out, now I feel like looking for a cave to hide in with a huge rock as a door so I can get over feeling like a real Blonde, oh-I am a real Blonde, LOL.
Peace be with everyone.

Nisha, DO YOU EVER EVEN RESPOND TO YOUR FANS? I HAVE SEEN QUITE A FEW PEOPLE COME ON HERE AND TALK TO YOU AND ASK YOU QUESTIONS AND YOU NEVER EVER GET THEM THE TIME OF DAY. THESE PEOPLE ARE YOUR FANS. I WOULD THINK THAT YOU WOULD AT LEAST TALK TO THEM AND SAY AT LEAST SOMETHING. I GUESS THERE IS NO POINT IN ME EVEN REALLY WRITING THIS BECAUSE YOU WONT EVEN RESPOND BACK.
